Dog law
Train your dog not to break the law.
Their life and freedom depend on it.
In the eyes of the law, you must always keep your dog ‘under control’. Allowing your dog to be ‘dangerously out of control’ is against the law on private property and in public.
A dog doesn’t have to bite or physically injure someone for an offence to take place.

Generally, this means keeping your dog close to you; a dog on a short close lead is under control. If they’re not on a lead, they need to be under control in another way, such as paying attention to your verbal commands.

If your dog is off lead without good recall, they are classified as ‘dangerously out of control’. - Good recall is coming when called the first time their owner calls them.
Vivian Gonzalez-Lago
Head Dog Trainer and Level 4 Behaviourist
I have worked with dogs since 2009, I am a level 3 canine nutritionist and a level 4 canine behaviourist. I started my owner business adventure in 2017; my favourite part of my job is bridging the communication gap between dogs and their owners. I started off in the rescue and rehabilitation sector working with rescue centres. I was trained up by their finest dog trainers and worked alongside their behaviourist, to help rescue dogs improve their chances of being rehomed.

I am a science-based dog trainer and behaviourist, which means I continually do a great deal of research and stay updated on the latest studies. My aim is to increase the dog and human bond by training owners to effectively read and understand their dogs and successfully communicate what they would like from their dogs and gain this through motivation. I use up-to-date dog psychology to find ways to improve off-leash relationships between humans and their dogs; the bond you have with your dog is the ultimate reward for both human and dog.

Cheyenne Selden
Dog Trainer and Aspiring Behaviourist
Hi, I’m Cheyenne, and I currently work for Vivian part-time as a senior trainer. I first started with Plenty Paws as a dog walker in 2017 as a summer job before going to university for Zoology. Vivian and I instantly got on in the interview, and I fell into the team and the pack of dogs. Viv and the team began showing me how to work with the dogs on our walks, and I began falling in love with dog training. Between my university years, I returned to work with the team and in 2020, I began working full-time after my degree.
Mia Cookman
Qualified Dog Trainer
I've been a part of the Plenty Paws team since 2021, starting off in the office before sneaking my way into puppy classes. Now as a newly qualified ADTB platinum dog trainer, I run classes alongside vivian, helping the pups grow into well-behaved, confident and, most importantly, happy little dogs.
